Pandemics change worlds in the short term, as many of you act like it's over, and in the long term. Where world changes are concerned, we are still in the opening chapters of the history and effects of the Covid pandemic.

Covid is back in the news nowadays, not because 400+ million people around the world (including me) are now chronically ill and disabled, but because it's pop punditry to blame Covid for Trump, Musk, and the other grifters bringing you tech-enabled autocracy.*

I'm not going to the event above but I wanted to celebrate their spirit and energy and I hope they have a helluva good time. Because they deserve one.

*Actually a good reason to realize how early we are in the "history of the Covid pandemic" - so many chapters to come where this early nightmare setup of two con men buying the United States for their wealthy sycophants is dispatched with and we get to the good parts of communal care, regenerative, justice, inclusive economies, and multiracial democracy finally gets a chance.
