The response to the book club focusing on philanthropy and civil society has been remarkable. So much so that I'm going to need even more help than I first imagined.

More than 70 of you have signed up - a great sign of interest but an awfully big group for good book discussions (and I am not be hosting a lecture series). A big part of this idea is for us all to connect with new people and new ideas. If you've already signed up and received the inaugural email from me, along with the invitation to the call (two separate emails) AND you can help with any of the following, please let me know by email.

Dividing participants into breakout rooms
Co-hosting and letting folks into the call (and, if needed, kicking out creeps)
Ideas for structuring the hour so the book gets discussed and new people meet each other
Developing an online survey of the suggested books so we can pick books #2-4
Developing an online survey to pick dates for sessions 2-4

If you signed up after January 15, 2025 please note that we've selected our first book to read: Claire Dunning's Nonprofit Neighborhoods. The author will join us for part of our first meeting, which will take place on February 24 or 25 (time zone dependent). Reminder emails with time and video conference information will go out in February.

If you want to see every book recommended by those who've signed up, here's the list. Thanks to a PBC member for helping organize the booklist.
