What social contract?

In a nation where the President has given a private citizen (Forget this special government employee, garbage) the literal digital keys to the country, what is the average citizen's obligation to obey?

If, as junior high civics taught me, Congress has the power of the purse and the President's job is to implement the laws passed by Congress, what obligations do I have when those roles are tossed out the window? When a president openly violates the law, proclaims himself Napoleonic in power, and opens the door to the biggest data theft (leading to financial theft) in history, must we support the government?

We see through their plans. There is nothing in #Musk's efforts intended to or that will ultimately save money - he's leading an effort of infrastructure destruction. The equivalent of burning down bridges and blowing up highways. With the added harm to individuals that we can expect both in the form of digital blackmail, doxxing, coercion and - what would stop them - jailing those they disagree with? It's a movement built on terrifying people - otherwise known as terrorism.

This is the Neoreactionary Movement's greatest dream come true, it has nothing to do with democracy (and please stop thinking they intend to allow free, fair and functional elections after this - they're evil but not as stupid as I'd like them to be). Are we supposed to support them as they trash our government and use it as a launching pad for their dreams of global empire?

Specifically, why would your average farmer (now getting financially screwed), your average government employee, your average university faculty member, or nonprofit employee pay for this? What would make people pay for the destruction of their own government? Why would you pay taxes for this?
